Mount Pinagkaayonan (Lantad)
Guinobatan, Bato, East Catanduanes, Philippines
14 Kilometers | 3 Hours 0 Minutes
A 2-3 hour trek and more or less 1,200 feet over the ground, Mount Lantad offers a 360-degree mountain top perspective of Bato and Virac.
Lantad is a Bicol word for “open,” which, for this situation, implies a more remote and more extensive perspective of Catanduanes with no deterrent.
Known not in the quick territory as Mt. Pinagkaayonan, occupants of Bato say this is the place the people of Sipi, Cabugao, and Guinobatan looked for shelter amid the Japanese intrusion. Yet, later on, with the approach of mountaineering, it was advanced as Mount Lantad.
Bring friends and camp here! Looking at the city lights and star gazing at night is fun here.
