The beauty of Catanduanes is packed with various attractions that are yet to be discovered. Hence, most of it are preserved pristine and innocent.
One of the best attraction of Catanduanes’ faultless treasure is the waterfalls found in the town of Gigmoto. The Nahulugan Falls is a beautifully cascade three-tiered marvel that prides its cool and perfectly clear water encompassed by the island’s delicious green wilderness.
Cottages are accessible in the area. They are admirably distanced from the river to keep up the pristine perspective and eventually, keep the spot clean.
Nahulugan is a Filipino word for “a spot where something fell”. Legend says that the falls was named after a man and his carabao (water buffalo) fell while crossing the ridge, out from which waters started to wonderfully cascade in three tiers.
Nahulugan falls is located at Brgy. San Pedro, Gigmoto. Despite the fact that it is a long and bumpy ride, and not as effortlessly available as the Maribina Falls in the town of Bato, the minute you arrive there you know that it was a trip worth having.
