Balacay Point also known as Benticayan point is located in Brgy. Benticayan in the town of Baras, Catanduanes.
Balacay Point is one of the tourist spots that is frequently visited by tourists and travelers in Catanduanes.
Going to Balacay Point will give you a 15 minute tricycle ride from Puraran plus a 15-20 minute trek through a low-canopy forest.
The Government of Catanduanes constructed a concrete road going to the top of Balacay Point. Cars and motorcycle vehicles can park at the top of the hill. Once you get there, you will be stunned with the view of the Pacific horizon together with the Balacay Island on the left and the Puraran Beach on the right. Compared to Binurong point, Balacay point has higher ground but smaller in terms of size.
This place is great for a pictorial so don’t forget to bring your camera to take shots here. The perfect time to visit Balacay Point is at sunrise or sunset.
Most visitors of Puraran Beach/Surf Spot are having a side trip here and also in Binurong Point before they go home. Watch out for cliffs as some parts there are not yet barricaded by wires.
