Sû-nog Sea Cave
Hiyop, Pandan, East Catanduanes, Philippines
110 Kilometers | 3 Hours 15 Minutes
Barangay Hiyop’s premier attraction is the Su-nog Cave which is just a ten-minute car or motorbike ride from Pandan. It should be noted that walkers and hikers visiting the place should consult the tidal charts to find the best time to walk the ocean floor out to the sea caves. As the tide rises, soon erasing their footsteps and fills the cavern with sea water. Visitors can experience spelunking and canyoneering apart from trekking in a unique way as going under the Su-nog Cave is fun. What keeps the experience more exciting are the pink rocks and the hum of “balinsasayaw” (birds) coming in and out of the cave. A dip into the cool and crystal clear blue waters of the cave is really exciting. After a tiresome trek and canyoneering, one can take a shower at the Su-nog mini falls just right beside the cave.
